PM Modi Says New Education Policy Aims to Empower Students
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 7 addressed the conference on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 organised by the Ministry of Education. The PM said that the policy will bring out the real 'aspiration' of the students and 'empower' them to achieve successes. He also discussed the challenges and confusions surrounding the policy. "Steps are being taken to implement the new policy in a better and organised way," he assured. While noting that over 2 lakh intellectuals contributed in the NEP 2020, PM Modi opined that government must limit its intervention in the education policy. He also stressed that the NEP 2020 will promote 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' mission. The half-an-hour video conference was attended by the President of India, Education Ministers of the states, and other education officials. "Such conferences should take place, in different colleges and universities before September 25, for a better understanding of NEP 2020," PM Modi suggested.
