Polluted Air Deaths More Deadlier Than COVID Deaths In Indian Cities
According to a report published by Greenpeace foundation, air pollutant PM2.5 has claimed more lives than COVID-19 in many Indian megacities. Delhi alone accounted for 54,000 lives, way more than its COVID-19 tally of 10,984. Similarly, Mumbai and Bangalore accounted for avoidable deaths of 25,000 and 12,000. Besides, deaths in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Lucknow were recorded at a staggering 11,000, 11,000 and 6,700.
