President Kovind's Address on the Eve of the 74th Independence Day
President Ram Nath Kovind, during his speech for the 74th Independence Day, congratulated the nation and talked over various issues in the country. The President said that this year's celebration would be of moderate level due to the pandemic. Expressing his gratitude towards health workers, he said the country was in debt to the corona warriors. He also called the efforts taken by the Central Government to fight the virus as 'effective' and 'well in time'. In his 45-minute speech, he touched upon the 'befitting reply' that India gave to China at the Galwan Valley as well. Additionally, he described the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as "the culture of Inclusion, Innovation, and Institution". The President said the 'Bhoomi Pujan' ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Temple was "a moment of pride for all". He also spoke on the deadly cyclone Amphan, which caused destruction in West Bengal and Odisha.
