Print Media Asked To Refrain From Publishing Bihar Elections Predictions
The Press Council of India, through an advisory on October 20, asked newspapers and magazines to refrain from publishing articles related to predictions on the Bihar elections. The advisory stated that this was in accordance with the 'Section-126A' of the Representation of the People Act, and intends to "ensure free, fair and transparent election". The council has prohibited publishing from October 28 to November 7, the polling period for Bihar.
