To Promote Rural Industrialisaton, Pragati Gokhale Develops Marketmirchi

To promote the growth in the rural industrial sector, Pragati Gokhale, a software expert and a National Resources Person in the Union Ministry of Rural Development developed Marketmirchi.com to market products using the service for free. The indigenous, multilingual web portal has all facilities of an app and it has reportedly been helpful to ''rural entrepreneurs, farmers, artisans, self-help group, farmers' producer organisations, and other rural stakeholders,'' said Gokhale.

At present, nearly 20,000 rural entrepreneurs and farmers all over the country used their mobile to advertise themselves on MarketMirchi.com. Sharing the achievement, Gokhale said, ''Big Basket, Reliance Retail has also taken the initiative to take goods directly from farmers at Marketmirchi.com.'' Besides, the World Women's Leadership Congress recently awarded Mrs. Pragati Gokhale of Nagpur the ''Global Woman of Worth Award''.
