PTI Services Down For Hours As Servers Face Ransomware Attack

India's premier news agency Press Trust of India's services were down for hours as it recently suffered a ransomware attack. The ransomware, identified as 'LockBit', breached the agency's server at 10 PM on October 24. Reportedly, 'LockBit', whose origin is unknown, stopped delivery of PTI news to subscribers and demanded ransom to resume services. However, PTI stated the services were resumed by 9 AM on October 25 without paying any ransom.
