Puducherry: Speaker Sivakolundhu Quits Office Citing Health Issues
Citing poor health issues, the Puducherry Assembly Speaker VP Sivakolundhu handed over a resignation from his post to L-G Tamilisai Soundararajan. Reportedly, Sivakolundhu, the Congress MLA from Lawspet constituency, stepped down a month after his brother V P Ramalingam joined BJP in the presence of Amit Shah. Earlier on February 22, the poll-bound Puducherry’s CM V Narayanasamy led congress government collapsed after facing a series of defections to the BJP.
