Punjab CM Opposes Satluj-Yamuna Link Canal; Says "Punjab Will Burn"

Opposing the Satluj-Yamuna Link canal project, Punjab CM Amrinder Singh on August 18 told the Centre that "Punjab will burn" if the project gets completed. He further said the project would become a "national problem", and Haryana and Rajasthan will also face the repercussions. The meeting, attended by Amrinder Singh, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, was convened on the directions of the Supreme Court.
