Punjab Power Corporation Auctioned Bathinda Thermal Power Plant at Rs 164 Cr
The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited auctioned Bathinda Thermal Power Plant's machinery for Rs 164.6 crore. Though the government spent Rs 750 crore on renovations during 2007-14, the plant has never operated in full capacity since 2016. However, the four iconic cooling towers will not be dismantled. After demolition by the auctioning firm, the 1,320 acre land will be acquired by Punjab Urban Development Authority for an industrial estate.
