Railway Sees 87% Dip In Passenger Revenue, Not Definite Over Normalcy
Railway Board Chairman V K Yadav stated that the Indian Railways has seen an 87% drop in passenger revenue due to the pandemic. He also said, "It is not possible to give a definite date for the resumption of normal train services." Yadav added that while normal trains are suspended, 1,089 special trains are running on 30-40% occupancy. However, he hoped that the deficit in passenger revenue will be bridged by the freight revenue.
