IPL is not just a cricket tournament, it is a different set of market also. The overcrowding sponsors' logos on teams' jerseys have turned the players into moving billboards. However, interesting sponsors have always made a fuss. Aimed at empowering and educating people about health and hygiene, this IPL has sponsors ranging from condoms to sanitary pad brands. In this chain, Rajasthan Royals kicked off the IPL 2020 with sporting ‘Niine’, sanitary napkin brand, on its jersey's back. This effort of the franchise has been lauded widely as discussing menstruation is considered shameful, taboo and uncomfortable in large parts of the country. The back ad-spot is a key place in terms of reach and return on investment. This results in more promotion and, hence, more awareness. In 2015, Kings XI Punjab, too, came up with advertising Manforce, a leading pharma company popularly known for its condoms, on its jersey's back.
