Rajasthan: Udaipur's Major Tourist Attraction "City Palace" Wears Deserted Look
Rated among major tourist attractions in Rajastan, City Palace of Udaipur, has become deserted these days due to the pandemic-induced lockdown restrictions. The decline in footfall of tourists has also impacted the museums, hotels, restaurants, and handicrafts shops surrounding the palace. Mayank Gupta, Deputy Secretary of Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation said that previously 3,000 tourists, on an average, used to visit the City Palace per day; the number has shrunk to around 2,000 visitors a month now. During the weekends, the palace used to host increased visitors but the lockdown announced by the local administration on Sundays has furthered the downfall of the earning at the ticket counter, he added.
