Rajinikanth Drops Idea Of Entering Politics; Apologises To Fans

In a three-page statement on Twitter, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth on December 29 announced that he would not be entering politics due to his health conditions. Earlier in November, the legendary actor had announced that he would launch his political party on December 31. The actor has been recently discharged from a hospital, where he was admitted on December 25 after suffering fluctuations in blood pressure level. Rajinikanth stated that he considered the recent events as "an alert from God" before entering politics. Besides, he said that he did not want to risk people's lives by campaigning amidst the outbreak of new COVID-19 strain. Rajinikanth also thanked his aides - Dr Tamizharuvi Maniyan and Arjunamurthy - for helping him with his political entry. While apologising to his fans for not entering politics, the actor had assured that welfare works would continue from his side through his fans' club.
