RCB Gets Lucky Escape From Hetmyer's Fiery Knock, Beats DC By 1 Run
In a nail-biting last-ball thriller, the Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Delhi Capitals by a close margin of one run. Asked to bat first, RCB posted a target of 171 runs. Challengers' beginning was not well as they lost wickets in initial overs. However, its sinking boat was controlled by ever-performing AB de Villiers who scored unbeaten 75 runs off 42 balls. Chasing the target, Delhi too lost two wickets in the initial overs. After losing four wickets, DC was steered by skipper Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer till the last over. Pant scored 58 runs off 48 deliveries while Hetmyer struck a fiery knock of 25-ball 53-run. In the final over, Capitals required 14 runs but, thanks to Mohammed Siraj's controlled bowling, they fall short of one run as Pant could hit only a boundary at the last ball while the requirement was of a six to seal the game. After clinching the game, RCB has once again topped the points table whereas Delhi has slipped to 3rd spot.
