Rohit Sharma Becomes Third Batsman To Score 5000+ IPL Runs
The 13th match of IPL 2020 witnessed yet another batting record. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma, by hitting a boundary on the very first ball of his inning, crossed the milestone of 5000 IPL runs. With scoring 70 runs in the match against Kings XI Punjab, Rohit has made 5068 runs in 192 IPL matches, having an above-par strike rate of 131.26. Interestingly, all the batsmen who have scored 5000+ runs in the IPL are Indians. Rohit became the third batsman to achieve this milestone joining his colleagues Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina. Chennai's Suresh Raina was the first batsman to score 5000+ IPL runs and, currently, he is the second-highest run-getter with 5368 runs. Bangalore's skipper Virat Kohli, who became the second batsman to achieve the feat, is currently the highest run-scorer in the IPL with 5430 runs. Earlier, in the match, MI defeated KXIP by 48 runs.
