Rs 7,350 Cr PLI Scheme Approved To Push Domestic Production Of Laptops, PCs

The Centre has approved a Rs 7,350-crore Production Linked Incentive scheme to encourage the domestic manufacturing of laptops, tablets, PCs, and servers. Aiming to attract global companies to boost the Indian manufacturing capacity, it will help generate 1.80 lakh jobs. While the scheme aims to scale up exports of the products to Rs 2.45 lakh crore in four years, reports also suggest that it has attracted tech giant Apple for manufacturing in India.
