Saving 5-Month-Old, Centre Waives Off Rs 6 Cr On Imported Medicine

Making treatment of 5-year-old Teera Kamat affordable, the central government has agreed to waive import duty and GST worth Rs 6 crore on her medicines. The Mumbai-based girl, reportedly, suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, treatment of which lies in Zolgensma medicine that costs Rs 16 crore. Earlier, former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis had written to the Centre for the waiver after Teera's parents had requested on social media for fundraising.
