SC To Address Petition Challenging Illegal Excavation Activity Around Shree Jagannath Temple

Supreme Court will review a petition contesting the Orissa High Court's refusal to stop the state government from excavating around Shree Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha on May 31. Archeological Survey of India and state government agencies have been directed to perform a joint investigation of the region by High Court. According to ASI report, the excavation work might result in the destruction of archaeological relics at the historic site.
