SC Bench Pronounces Verdict In Plea Challenging PMLA Act
The Supreme Court bench announced its verdict in the plea challenging the money laundering act provisions and upheld its provisions. On July 27, the Apex Court bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar pronounced the verdict. It affirmed the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) power to make arrests per the anti-money laundering law, noting that the process was "not arbitrary. Notably, a group of petitions against PMLA powers were combined in one petition.
