SC Directs Randeep Surjewala To Appeal HC Against Statute Connecting Aadhaar With Voter ID

Supreme Court directed Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala to petition Delhi High Court contesting the Election Law Amendment Act, which allows integrating electoral roll data with the Aadhaar ecosystem on July 25. Surjewala stated in his petition to Supreme Court that connecting the cards "infringes upon the fundamental right of privacy of citizens." In his plea, the Congress leader stated that the amendment attempts to link two wholly separate papers.
