SC To Review Case Challenging Law Connecting Aadhaar, Voter IDs

Supreme Court will examine plea on the contentious statute linking Aadhaar and Voter Identity Card on July 24.  Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson filed the petition, alleging "invasion of privacy." Surjewala has declared law illegal and breach of his right to privacy and equality in his appeal. Lok Sabha passed Election Laws Bill by voice vote in December 2021, authorizing linkage of Aadhaar with Voter IDs.
