School Dropout Rate Least in West Bengal: ASER 2020
Citing the Annual State of Education Report (ASER), West Bengal government has announced that the state achieved the least dropout rate among school students. As per TMC statement, while the dropout rate in WB declined to 1.5% from 3.3%, the national figure rose to 5.5% from 4%. Authorities said the improvement was due to the state’s policy of distributing curriculum-based books to every child in state-run schools and providing online education during pandemic.
