Section 144 Implemented In Karnataka's Puttur Following Protest Over Murder Of BJP Yuva Morcha Worker

Section 144 enforced in Karnataka's Puttur region, and security was increased, after BJP Yuva Morcha activist, Praveen Nettaru was assassinated with lethal weapons by unidentified individuals in Dakshina Kannada district on July 26. Additional police officers have been despatched from Mangalore and Udupi to maintain law and order. On July 27, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai promised that the perpetrators of the "heinous act" will be apprehended and punished.
