Section 144 Imposed In Chamoli, Ahead Of Uttarakhand Assembly Polls

The Uttrakhand Magistrate imposed section 144 of the CrPC, in Chamoli district of the State. On January 10, District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana said, section 144, restricting public gathering of five and more have been imposed, aiming peace in the region, ahead of the Uttrakhand Assembly polls, scheduled on February 14. Besides Chamoli, Dehradun also have section 144 imposed for smooth polling. Uttarakhand will contest elections for 70 seats.
