Shopian Encounter: Security Forces Kill JeM Commander Sajjad Afghani

In a new development in the gunfights ensuing in the Rawalpora region of Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, security forces killed Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander Sajjad Afghani on March 15. Classified as one of the most-wanted militants of the state, Afghani was allegedly involved in mobilizing youths into terrorism. Earlier, on March 14, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist named Jahangir Ahmad Wani was shot during the anti-militancy operation, which began on March 13.
