Singapore Invokes Misinformation Law On COVID-19 Variant Claims

The Singapore government on May 20 invoked anti-misinformation law to warn against the false claims of 'Singapore COVID-19 variant' on social media. Recently, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal received backlash for urging the Centre to ban flights from Singapore due to the COVID variant. However, denying the claims, Singapore termed it as 'unfounded assertions.' The Singapore government said, the variant that increased COVID cases in city is of Indian origin.
