South-East Railways Sets Record By Running 3.5-km-long Train
In what could be called as a unique feat, South Eastern railways set a new record by operating the longest freight train. The Raipur division of the South East Central Railway zone has merged five rakes of freight coaches to run a 3.5-km-long 'Vasuki' train covering 224-km between Chhatisgarh's Bhilai and Korba railway station. Lauding the authorities, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, "This will ensure greater delivery of industrial products in a shorter period".
