South India’s First Kisan Rail Flagged Off from Andhra Pradesh
South India’s first 'Kisan Rail’ was flagged off virtually by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy on September 9. The train, from Andhra Pradesh to Delhi, will carry horticultural produces and will help farmers by cutting 25% post-harvest losses. Reportedly, farmers can also get premium prices for fresh produces. The train will run weekly but the frequency can be increased if the demand arises.
