SRT Ensures Healthy Crop, Reduces 40% Production Cost
Chandrasekhar Bhadsavle, a food-Scientist from Maharashtra introduced Saguna Rice Technique (SRT) to farmers in Neral, Karjat in 2013. He later expanded it to all 16 climatic zones of Maharashtra. Graduated from California University, who returned to India in 1976 & elaborates SRT as, "we save 50% water, 40% cost of production by saving labor costs". It doesn't require tilling, which makes farmers believe SRT to be 'hawaman anukul sheti' (climate-resilient-agriculture).
