STF Arrests One Person For Wildlife Trafficking In Odisha
In Odisha's Kalahandi district, the police rescued a pangolin from Karnikhunti village, after a tip-off was given to the special task force personnel. On May 23, the police confirmed the arrest of one person on charges of wildlife trafficking. The endangered animal was handed over to the divisional forest officer under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. pangolin's body is covered with overlapping scales made of keratin, trafficked for money, illegally.
