Supreme Court To Hear Petitions Questioning Love Jihad Laws
The Supreme Court agreed to hear pleas questioning the constitutional validity of the 'Love Jihad' laws on January 6. The apex court stated that it would hear pleas and arrive at a resolution rather than staying the implementation of the laws at present. Reportedly, the plea was filed by advocate Vishal Thakre, an NGO Citizen for Justice and Peace, and others. Earlier, the laws were passed in three states including Uttar Pradesh.
