Supreme Court To Schedule Hearing On Maratha Quota Law On Feb 5
The Supreme Court will determine on February 5 the schedule for hearing pleas regarding the Maratha Quota. The apex court's announcement arrived after senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi on behalf of Maharashtra petitioned before a five-judge constitution bench to re-evaluate the case after physical hearings resume. Earlier in September, the court had questioned the legislation's constitutional validity, subsequently sojourning its implementation. The Maratha Quota law accords educational and employment reservations to people from Maratha community.
