Swachh Bharat Mission Phase-II To Focus On Waste Segregation At Source

The Centre has launched the sixth edition of the annual Swachh Survekshan as the Urban Affairs ministry awaits the Cabinet's approval for the phase-II of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Specifically focusing on sewage management in cities below 1 lakh population, the SBM-II will lay emphasis on waste segregation at the source. While the Survey will also include districts for the first time, the SBM-II will target legacy landfills, single-use plastic, and construction and demolition waste.
