Teachers' Day 2020: PM, President and other Statesmen Pay Homage to Teachers
PM Modi, Amit Shah, and Venkaiah Naidu took to Twitter to pay tribute on the occasion of Teachers' Day. They lauded the determination and effort of teachers amid the COVID-19 pandemic. President Kovind virtually conferred the National Teachers’ Awards to 47 teachers for their innovations. Praising their role during the COVID-19 pandemic, the President ensured the expansion of digital education to rural and distant areas. Mentioning tributes to Former President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, PM Modi felt grateful for their contributions towards shaping the minds of the nation. He also used the hashtag, #OurTeachersOurHeroes. A video was also shared where teachers were teaching about the lesser-known struggles of freedom fighters. Home Minister Amit Shah too expressed his gratitude remembering the former President as an iconic thinker and an erudite scholar, whereas Vice President Naidu wished the nation extending his greetings to Dr. Radhakrishnan as an eminent teacher, philosopher, scholar, statesman, and author.
