Manhar Muni Desai, a 70-year-old monk who was convicted of molesting a teen in march 2012, has committed suicide at a Jain temple in Mumbai. As per police officials, “Desai was found hanging from a ceiling fan by one of the temple workers.” Desai was given a two-year jail term sentence earlier this month but his arrest got delayed due to the pandemic. He also left behind a suicide note.
