Telangana Govt Sanctions 10% Quota For Economically Weaker Section

The Telangana government on February 8 sanctioned 10% reservation to the economically weaker section (EWS) in educational institutions and state government jobs. Subsequently, the general administration department and education department would separately issue required amendments to existing rules in this regard. Besides, the decision will also increase the reservation percentage of the state from 50% to 60%. The sanctioned quota is in line with the Centre's 2019 decision, which paved the way for the reservation.
