Telangana: Govt School Girls Make Eco-Friendly Sanitary Pads

Countering the waste generation by sanitary napkins, some girl students of a government school in Telangana’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district have designed organic menstrual pads. Named as ‘Stree Raksha Pads’, the eco-friendly sanitary napkins are made using water hyacinth, fenugreek, turmeric, neem, and sabja seeds. Moreover, the students of Mulkalapally Zilla Parishad High School were inspired from ancient methods and they developed these pads as most of them are poor and cannot afford conventional pads.
