Thailand to Construct 100 km Land Route Connecting Indian and Pacific Oceans
Thailand plans to construct a 100 km land passage-way connecting Indian and Pacific Oceans to reduce the congestion on the Strait of Malacca. Reportedly, the Strait of Malacca is the busiest shipping route connecting Asia-Pacific region with India and Middle East. The construction would reduce the traffic in the strait and the time of travel. Country's transport Minister Saksiam Chidchob, said that the Government has allocated 90 million Baht for initial works.
