Thane Civic Body Warns Staff To Not Switch Off Phones During Emergency

Mumbai’s Thane Municipal Corporation has warned the civic body officials not to switch off their phones during emergencies citing that it obstructs the rescue operations. The decision came after several officers were identified of either switching off or not responding to the calls by disaster management cell. The additional commissioner also informed about a 24X7 Regional Disaster Management Cell introduced to tackle disasters like fire incidents, short circuits, etc.
