Times Group Demands Rs 450 Cr For Damages From BARC Over TRP Scam

Indian media conglomerate 'The Times Group' has sent a legal notice to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), demanding a compensation of Rs 450 crores. It accused the TV rating agency of manipulating viewership details of its English news channel. The group said that the agency "deliberately reduced" the ratings of Times Now in 2017 to benefit its rival Republic TV. Earlier, former BARC chief and Republic's Chief Editor Arnab Goswami were arrested in TRP scam.
