TMC Launches 'Bengal Wants Its Own Daughter' Campaign Ahead Of Polls

Buckling up for the Bengal assembly elections, Trinamool Congress on February 20 launched a slogan campaign - 'Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chaye' meaning 'Bengal wants its own daughter.' While Kolkata was flooded with TMC hoardings having Mamata Banerjee's photos, the slogan reignited the insider versus outsider debate in the state accusing BJP of “election tourism.” TMC Secretary-General Partha Chatterjee stated, "We don't want outsiders to call the shots in Bengal."
