TN: Devotees Build 'Corona Devi' Temple For Protection Against COVID
Devotees of Kamatchipuri Adheenam in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore have built a Corona Devi temple to seek protection against the deadly COVID-19. The worshippers also erected a 1.5-foot tall black stone statue where prayers will be offered for 48 days to get rid of the virus, and the pooja will conclude with a Mahayagam. Interestingly, a similar temple named "Plague Mariamman Temple" was constructed 150 years ago against the plague.
