Tragedy Strikes ODF Jodhapura, as Woman Gives Birth in Open Field

Jodhapura resident Shilpi Chauhan, delivered a baby in an open field on June 23, after she had labour pain while relieving herself. Chauhan fell unconscious and lay in a pool of blood until her family found her, while the baby was missing. Although, the government had declared Jodhapura an open defecation free (ODF). "Gram Pradhan Gajendra Singh refused to provide financial aid in-order to build a toilet, due to lack of documents," said Chauhan's husband.
