Troops Plan To Leave Afghanistan; NATO Chief Warns Of Militants' Regrouping

Amid western troops willing to vacate Afghanistan, NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg has warned of regrouping of Islamic State militants in the region. “The price for leaving too soon or in an uncoordinated way could be very high,” he said. Earlier, Trump had prioritized complete disengagement from the region by Christmas. While many NATO allies are eager to leave, a total of 12,000 NATO troops, including 4,500 US soldiers, are guarding the region.
