Tropical Storm & Landslides Hit Philippines; 9 Dead, 11 Missing
Heavy-Tropical-Storm Kompasu swamped vast-areas of Luzon's most populated island on October 11. Authorities reported that nine people died and 11 went missing after torrential rains in the Philippines inundated communities and caused landslides. Four were killed in landslides in the landlocked mountainous-region of Benguet. One perished in coastal-region of Cagayan, while seven are missing. The storm exacerbated the southwest-monsoon, causing a flash-flood at a town in western-island province of Palawan.
