TRP Scam: BARC Disappointed with Republic TV's Actions

The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) in its statement on October 18 stated that it never commented on the ongoing TRP scam case and provided full support to investigation agencies. The statement was released after Republic TV earlier mentioned of a mail from the BARC. The mail as claimed by the channel stated: "If there was any disciplinary action initiated against ARG Outlier Media Private Ltd (Republic TV), then BARC India would have communicated the same to you along with necessary documents for your response." The channel claimed that BARC did not allege any wrongdoings against it and blamed the Mumbai city police commissioner Param Bir Singh for false accusations. BARC further mentioned that it is very much 'disappointed' with Republic TV's actions for airing private and confidential communications and also misrepresenting them. The Republic TV has been constantly denying the accusations on TRP scam and tried to file a case too.
