Twitter Updates Conduct Policy; Bars Hate Tweets On Race, Ethnicity
As a measure to curb hate speech of different kinds, the micro-blogging site Twitter has updated its conduct policy on December 2. As per the new policy, Twitter will prohibit the “language that dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity and national origin”. Earlier, Twitter had barred hate-tweets religion, caste, age, disability, and disease. However, the company has been criticised for not implementing the ban before the US Presidential elections
