Twitteratis Demand Ban On Tandav, Resignation Of Prakash Javadekar
Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has been facing all the heat for Amazon Prime Video's web series 'Tandav' that became a hot topic for allegedly hurting Hindu-sentiments. Twitteratis, on January 17, trended hashtag "Prakash Javadekar Istifa Do", demanding his resignation from his post for failing to stop the offensive content. The alleged anti-Hindu contents of the series, which released on January 15, was first brought into light by BJP MP Manoj Kotak. Taking to Twitter, Manoj had requested Javadekar to ban the series for mocking Hindu Gods and had demanded an apology from the makers. His tweet was soon backed by netizens who necessitated a boycott of 'Tandav' after Zeeshan Ayub's scene portrayed Lord Shiva using abusive words went viral. Meanwhile, over 76,000 tweets have been made in the micro-blogging platform criticising the series along with Zeeshan, Saif Ali Khan and director Ali Abbas Zafar.
