Twitterattis Go Bonkers Over Ambani-Adani Ends In 'Narendra Modi Stadium'
Twitteratis are not keeping it cool after the Sardar Patel Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad was renamed Narendra Modi Stadium at its inauguration on February 24. Moreover, the decision turned even more polarizing after the stadium got its bowling ends named 'Reliance End' and 'Adani End.' Since the inauguration and nomenclature, the stadium is drawing mixed bonker reactions from thousands of Twitter users. Taking a jibe at the development, one user tweeted, "Narendra Modi Stadium and Adani Pavillion end and Reliance end. Why isn't it an orange ball test?" About the bowling ends, another tweeted, "The Adani End and Reliance End at the 800 crore-costing Narendra Modi Stadium. You couldn't make up a better analogy." Some users also criticized naming stadiums after living politicians. Reportedly, earlier in the day, President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the world's largest stadium, ahead of it hosting its first international match - the third India-England test. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju, and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah were also present during the occasion.
