Two Members Quit Foreign Press Association Citing Toxic Work Environment
Two members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association left the organization, calling it a "toxic environment for professional journalists." Diederik van Hoogstraten of the Netherlands and Wenting Xu of China resigned from the HFPA board. In the letter, they criticized the organization's effort, calling it "simply a show off for the public." Earlier this year, the HFPA received a lot of criticism from netizens for lacking diversity.
